Melissa Lawton is of counsel at Thomas, Alexander, Forrester & Sorensen. Ms. Lawton previously worked at Davis Polk & Wardwell's New York office, developing broad experience in complex commercial litigation and internal corporate investigations. She then joined O'Melveny & Myers LLP's Los Angeles office, where she assisted in the representation of Fortune 500 and other publicly traded companies in a broad array of litigation matters, with a specialization in the area of securities fraud and internal corporate investigations. Prior to joining TAF, she was a staff attorney at Public Counsel, the country's largest pro bono law firm, where she helped develop Los Angeles County's universal preschool program and had extensive public speaking experience before city councils and commissions on the links between education and criminal justice issues.
Ms. Lawton graduated from Fordham Law School where she was an Associate Editor of the Fordham Law Review and graduated cum laude and Order of the Coif. She is a member of both the California bar and the New York bar.
